A family business that rents the occasion.
Rental World is run by Mama Alludu Rentals, a family business in Fathullaguda, Nagole, Hyderabad. We rent the things that make an occasion: instruments for a concert, a cradle for a naming ceremony, a table tennis table for an office fun day, karaoke for a birthday.
Why we rent.
It began with musical instruments. Musicians travelling to Hyderabad for a show needed a tabla, a drum kit or a saxophone for one evening, and photographers wanted instruments for shoots. Buying wasn't sensible, and almost nobody rented them.
So we started renting, by the day, the week or 15 days. Families then asked for cradles for naming ceremonies, peetams and homam kundis for poojas, and offices asked for table tennis and carrom. Today we rent 79 items, including 53 musical instruments, to people across Hyderabad and Telangana.
The name Mama Alludu Rentals means "uncle and nephew" in Telugu, a nod to the family that runs it. Rental World is the name we use online.
Who rents from us.
Artists flying into Hyderabad for a show can't always carry a drum kit, keyboard or sax. They rent ours for the day.
Students rent a keyboard, guitar or violin for a week or 15 days to see if they enjoy it, before spending on their own.
A cradle for the naming ceremony or a homam kundi for a housewarming is used once. Renting saves buying and storing it.
Table tennis, carrom, karaoke and sound for fun days and functions, without anyone having to buy and keep them.
