School annual day in Hyderabad: instruments, sound and stage items on rent

For a school annual day in Hyderabad you can rent the Ahuja set of two cordless mics (₹1,200 a day), mics with stands (₹400), a QSC speaker (₹2,000) or the mini DJ setup (₹9,000), a keyboard (from ₹500), a drum kit (from ₹1,500), a tabla (₹500), ghungroo for dancers (₹250) and a projector with screen (from ₹1,500), from Rental World in Nagole, open 24/7.

An annual day brings the whole school on stage: welcome speeches, the school band, classical and folk dances, a play and the prize distribution. Renting fills the gaps for one evening, without buying instruments that sit in a store room for the rest of the year.

Sound for the stage and the anchors

The Ahuja set of two cordless mics (₹1,200 a day) lets the anchors move around the stage, and mics with stands (₹400 a day) suit speeches and singers. One QSC 1000W speaker (₹2,000 a day) fills an auditorium; for a school ground, the QSC mini DJ setup (₹9,000 a day) brings three speakers, a mixer and mics.

The GTX 6-channel mixer (₹900 a day) balances several mics and instruments through one system.

For the school band and music items

The Casio CT-X870IN keyboard comes with a stand (₹1,200 a day). For drums, the Chancellor acoustic kit is ₹1,500 a day and the Stagg ₹2,000. An acoustic guitar is ₹500 a day, and the M-Studio octopad (₹1,500 a day) lets one player cover drum and percussion parts for light music and devotional songs.

For classical and folk dances

Gajjalu (ghungroo anklets) are ₹250 a day, for Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi and Kathak items and for kolatam. For live accompaniment, a tabla is ₹500 a day, a mridangam ₹1,200 and a dholak ₹500 for folk dances.

A screen for the slideshow

A projector with a screen (₹1,500 a day) shows the year's photo slideshow or a short film between items.

What it adds up to

At our day rates:

  • Stage sound: QSC speaker + Ahuja cordless mics + mics with stands = ₹3,600 a day.
  • School band: CT-X870IN keyboard + Chancellor drum kit + acoustic guitar = ₹3,200 a day.

Rehearsals often start a week or two before the day, so the weekly rates help: the CT-X870IN keyboard is ₹5,000 a week and the Chancellor drum kit ₹6,000 a week.

Add transport both ways. A full drum kit needs a cab or a mini-truck, not an auto.
