Renting a cradle for a naming ceremony in Hyderabad

A cradle for the naming ceremony (barasala) costs ₹1,500 a day to rent from us, in wood, steel or neem wood, with a refundable deposit of ₹5,000. Book 2–3 days ahead.

The cradle is used for one day, so many families rent rather than buy one that then sits unused. We keep three kinds, and the same day you can add a jhoola, name revealing boxes, decoration and sound.

Choose the cradle

We have a wooden cradle, a steel cradle and a neem wooden cradle. All three are ₹1,500 a day with a deposit of ₹5,000. Pick the one that suits the setting and your family's custom; each has its own page with a photo.

Cradle or jhoola: which one do you need?

A cradle (uyyala) is a small bed for the baby: the baby lies in it and is gently rocked during the naming ceremony. A jhoola is a decorative swing seat on a stand that people sit on, often used to seat the mother or guest of honour, for festival décor and for photos. For the naming ceremony itself you need a cradle; a jhoola is an optional extra for the stage.
